1) What is the registration schedule for the Fall season?
Early registration begins on January 14, 2026 and ends on January 25, 2026 ($100 per child)
Regular registration runs from January 26, 2026 through February 9, 2026 ($125 per child)
Late registration will run from February 10, 2026 through February 17, 2026 ($160 per child)

We will do our best to find a spot for your child to play based on team sizes, uniform availability and the number of coach volunteers we have. 2) What ages are available for play?
Generally, our league starts at age 4 and continues through those students enrolled in 8th grade in the Spring 2026 semester. Ages 4 - 5 year olds will be enrolled in our "KickStart" program which focuses on soccer fundamentals like dribbling, shooting and passing. Children age 6 to 14 will be enrolled in our recreational leagues, which are segregated by age. Advanced players ages 7 and up can try out for one of our competitive teams which participate in a travel league across the area with a higher level of instruction and competition -- Please email [email protected] for more information about our competitive offerings.
3) Are teams co-ed?
Yes. All teams include both boys and girls in our recreational divisions. Competitive teams are typically coed until age 10.
4) How many days of practice per week?
One. We generally have one 1 hour practice per week during the season. It is normally held on a weeknight. We cannot guarantee practice night availability. Coaching volunteers may choose which night of the week and time they wish to hold their practices.
5) How many games per week?
One. For the regular season, we will have 1 game per week on Saturdays. Once the regular season is completed, our older age divisions (ages 6+) will begin a tournament that may include both weeknight and weekend games.

Practices for recreational league will begin the week of March 2nd. KickStart practices begin the week of March 9th.
Scrimmage will be on March 7th.
First official games (all ages including KickStart) will be held on Saturday, March 14th.

No games Saturday, March 28th or Saturday, April 4th.
Regular season will end on Saturday, May 2nd (including KickStart).
Tournament season (for the recreational group, ages 6-14) will run from Monday, May 4th through Saturday, May 16th.
7) How much does the fundraiser cost?
There are no mandatory fundraisers to play with HYSC. At this time, our local and community sponsors allow us to keep our fees low without having a fundraiser. If you or someone you know would like to help support our organization, please fill out the form under the Sponsor Opportunities tab on our homepage. We will potentially hold raffle or other fundraising activities on Saturday game days and certainly appreciate your support!
8) What is provided with the registration fee?
All players will receive a team jersey, shorts and socks and an end of season trophy. The fees are also utilized to pay for equipment, field maintenance, and game referees.
9) Where do practices and games take place?
All soccer activities take place at Jack Spence Stadium located just North of Huffman Elementary School near the bus parking lot.
10) What is the oldest age that is allowed?
We generally allow those kids that are entering 8th grade (~14 years old) to compete with our league.
11) Do you offer sibling discounts?
No, we do not offer a sibling discount.
12) Can we request a coach or player to be on our team?
We do allow parents to make coach or carpooling requests. However, we do not guarantee that those requests can be fulfilled, but will do everything we can to accommodate them. Please fill our your preferences on our registration form.
13) Who coaches the teams?
All of our youth programs are coached by local parents, and we'd love to have your help! There is no experience necessary. We can provide coach's training and a weekly curriculum to follow for each of our age divisions. Please fill out the coaches application for more information. Plenty of coach volunteers helps us keep team sizes small allowing for enriching practices and lots of playing time. We can never have too many coaches! Parents who volunteer to coach have the most flexibility on setting their team's practice and game times through the season: if you have a busy schedule, you can make it easier on yourself by volunteering to coach!
14) For the Spring 2026 season, when will games be held?
All regular season games will be held on Saturdays between the hours of 8:30 am and 1 pm.
15) How are recreational and competitive teams formed?
Over the course of the summer we will have recreational evaluations which are required for all players age 6 and up. These evaluations will include basic drills like dribbling and shooting. Based on these evaluation scores, we will build leveled teams in our recreational divisions across each age group. Strong performers in the evaluations will be invited to "try out" for our competitive teams by joining them for summer practices scheduled at the coach's discretion. We will form competitive teams in any age groups (between U7 and U19) for which we have sufficient players to compete.
